This Notice of Intent to Sole Source is not a request for competitive quotations or proposals.The Department of Veterans Affairs Strategic Acquisition Center (SAC) intends to negotiate a Firm Fixed Price (FFP) sole source award in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-5 and Veterans Affairs Acquisition Regulation (VAAR) 819.7008 for the procurement of Stryker Stretcher Chairs Non-Powered or equal product and associated equipment with Trillamed LLC, 30100 Telegraph Road, Suite 366, Bingham Farms, MI 48025. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code 339113 Surgical Appliance and Supplies Manufacturing is most appropriate for this requirement. The size standard is 800 employees. The Product Service Code (PSC) is 6515 Medical and Surgical Instruments, Equipment, and Supplies.In accordance with Veterans Affairs Acquisition Regulation (VAAR) 819.7008, the determination to make a sole source award to a Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) is a business decision wholly within the discretion of the Contracting officer; therefore, the requirement to ensure that offers are solicited from as many potential sources as practicable is not applicable to this procurement. In addition, 819.7008(c) further authorizes the Contracting Officer to make the award without first determining that only one SDVOSB source can meet the requirement.
