Description:
Expression of Interest are invited for Off Grid Solar E-Waste Management Toolkit The World Bank is recruiting a firm to develop an Off-Grid Solar E-Waste Management Toolkit. The toolkit will assist World Bank project teams including safeguards specialists, and counterpart governments with assessment of environmental risk in off-grid solar projects, and development of appropriate environmental and social framework (ESF)/safeguard instruments and policies. The toolkit will cover a full range of standalone off-grid solar solutions including household solar lights and home systems, productive uses and electrification of public facilities. Mini-grid and grid-scale electrification are considered out of scope. The task will be global in scope, with the toolkit to be tested in 1-3 specific countries, which are still to be determined. The work to deliver this toolkit will be developed under the leadership and contributions of a working group, made up of members of the World Bank Energy and Extractives Practice as well as environmental and social safeguards/standards specialists.
