Description:
The City of Chesapeake (City) and the Chesapeake Public Library (CPL) are seeking proposals from qualified vendors to provide a program for Online Accredited High School Scholarships for adults age 20 and older. These scholarships will provide our community with access to a nationally accredited educational pathway that leads to a high school diploma. CPL strives to offer a second chance for those who did not complete high school through traditional means, thereby promoting educational equity and supporting the achievement of academic goals.This initiative aligns with the Citys mission to make our community an exceptional place to live, learn, work, farm, and play. By investing in adult education, we are actively contributing to the Citys strategic goal of economic prosperity. Adults who earn their high school diploma experience increased employment opportunities, greater earning potential, and a stronger sense of personal achievement. These individual benefits contribute to a more educated workforce, reduced poverty, and long-term community well-being.Through this program, the Library will empower five (5) to ten (10) individuals each year to advance their education and improve their quality of life—demonstrating our commitment to lifelong learning and equitable access to opportunity.
