Expression of Interest are invited for Outcome Buyer Market Assessment. Publication Date: 29-Nov-2022 Expression of Interest Deadline: 06-Dec-2022 IFC and its partners will undertake a research project to assess the outcome buyer market for social outcomes. This research will seek to i) identify outcome buyers and assess their demand to fund sustainable development outcomes (i.e., gender equality, health improvement, climate change) either as carbon co-benefits or standalone outcomes; ii) identify outcome buyers' preferred standards and methodologies to measure and verify social outcomes; and iii) estimate the market size where relevant social outcome market mechanisms (e.g., voluntary carbon market, impact bond market) exist. IFC is seeking a qualified consulting firm/consortium (the Firm) to carry out the research and produce a report that will focus on modern energy cooking and distributed renewable energy sectors specifically for solutions that manufacture and distribute climate-smart household appliances in modern energy cooking, off-grid or mini-grid energy, and small solar home systems designed to improve the welfare of low-income and underserved households. The objective of the market assessment is to close knowledge gaps which are required to leverage growing voluntary carbon markets and other outcome markets that could facilitate the mobilization of capital to impactful projects and to identify results-based financing solutions that enable companies to scale and achieve impact for the base of the pyramid and women.
