NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD LAMAR NFH NE FSHRY CTR ILLUMINIANOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCEThis announcement constitutes the only notice.This is not a request for quotes.A determination not to compete is solely within the discretion of the Government. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government. Responses received will be for the sole purpose of market research for future requirements.In accordance with FAR 8 and 13, the Department of Interior-US Fish and Wildlife Service Joint Administrative Operations-Acquisition and Property Operations-Goods and Services, intends to award a sole source action with Illumina Inc. to purchase sequencing, regent kits and primers for U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Lamar National Fish Hatchery and NE Fishery Center.Company: ILLUMINA INC.These products are essential for the continued analysis of environmental DNA (eDNA) projects, genotype and sequencing projects (GTSeq) and allow for accurate capture and processing of tarfet DNA from environmental and funclip samples.The USFWS Northeast Fishery Center (NEFC) Genetics Laboratory in Lamar, PA is engaged with many projects involving the detection of aquatic invasive species (AIS) environmental DNA (eDNA). The NEFC laboratory is equipped with an Illumina NextSeq. In order to run and maintain uniformity among lab operations and to ensure QA/QC with data generated by this platform, sequencing reagents must be purchased from Illumina, Inc. This procurement is a sole source requirement and is not a solicitation or a request for competitive quotes. A determination not to compete is solely within the discretion of the Government. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government.
