Description
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) intends to negotiate a contract on a single source basis to Vaisala Inc., Burlington, MA, for the acquisition of Visibility Sensors, FSM102FAA in support of PC-based Runway Visual Range (PC-RVR) system.

In accordance with the FAA Acquisition Management System Paragraph 3.2.2.4, the purpose of this announcement is to inform industry of the basis of the FAA's decision to contract with a selected source via single source procedures. Saab, Inc. owns all proprietary data rights proprietary information necessary to conduct manufacture, repair, and test of these assets.

A market survey (6973GH-25-MS-10935) was posted to the SAM.gov web site on February 7, 2025 and closed on February 21, 2025. Results of the market survey support a single source acquisition to Vaisala.

The proposed principle North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this effort is 334511,Search, Detection, Navigation, Guidance, Aeronautical, and Nautical System and Instrument Manufacturing, with a Small Business Size Standard of 1,350.
