  • The primary objective of this solicitation is to deploy a Pedestrian Collision Avoidance Detection system (\"PCAD\") and accompanying telematics subscription that will conform to the needs RTD and be suitable for continuous use in transit and paratransit vehicles. The products provided for review shall be new, unused, and in the current production model and conform to the specifications outlined herein. Installation, project planning, training, and technical manuals are included in this project.RTD is seeking proposals from qualified firms with experience in providing and installing PCAD and telematics systems on transit and paratransit buses, including, but not limited to, installing and deploying equipment and software.PCAD systems are technologies that make bus operations safer. Features of the PCAD systems can vary, but they generally use cameras mounted to the bus that alert operators of potentially dangerous situations like impending collisions with pedestrians, cyclists, or vehicles. Alerts are communicated to the operator via visual and/or audible form to warn the driver of the detected concern and its location. The telematics system shall connect directly to the PCAD system and provide RTD personnel with remote access to live and/or historical events reported by the PCAD system. It will operate via 4G LTE connectivity for a period of 5 years.
