Description:
Pinelands Park Landfill is a closed municipal waste landfill located on Ocean Heights Avenue in Egg Harbor Township, Atlantic County, New Jersey. The landfill closed in 1992 and is currently in year 33 of the post closure period. For the benefit of Atlantic County rate payers, the ACUA has assumed ownership and responsibility for post closure monitoring and maintenance activities at the site.The landfill property includes a total area of approximately 160 acres with a permitted landfill footprint of 134 acres. The landfill accepted municipal solid waste until 1990. Since completion of the landfill closure the final cover surface was converted into a golf course known as “McCullough-s Emerald Golf Links”. The creation of the golf course did not cause any disturbance of the existing final cover.The ongoing monitoring and maintenance of the site is financed through an NJDEP/BPU escrow fund. The prospective proposers should note that payment for services required in this RFP will be submitted to NJDEP for escrow withdrawal. Payment to vendor will occur upon receipt of funds from the NJDEP/BPU escrow fund.
