Description:
Georgia Dot Is Seeking To Contract With A Design-builder To Provide Design And Construction Services Necessary To Widening Along Interstate 16 (i-16) Between Interstate 95 (i 95) And State Route 67 (sr 67) In Southeast Georgia. The Project Will Expand I-16 From Two To Three Lanes In Both The Eastbound And Westbound Directions With The Additional 12-foot Travel Lanes Constructed Within The Existing Median (the Project). To Accommodate The New Lanes, Existing Travel Lanes Will Be Realigned Toward The Median, And Wider Shoulders Will Be Reconstructed Adjacent To The Relocated Lanes. The Project Is Designed To Improve Substandard Pavement Conditions And Address Increasing Traffic Volumes Along This Vital Freight And Commuter Corridor, Which Serves As A Key Connection To And From The Georgia Ports Authority. As Part Of The Project Scope, Six (6) Bridges Will Be Replaced And Widening Others At Various Locations. This Project Will Be Awarded To A Design-builder Utilizing A Two-phase Best Value (variable Scope) Method.
