The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this requirement is 332117 Powder Metallurgy Part Manufacturing; the business size standard is 550 (Numbers of employees).NAVSUP FLCSD intends to award a sole source contract to Metal Powder Works, LLC for the purchase of a specialized machine designed to convert metal bar stock into metal powders suitable for 3D printing and cold spray applications.Metal Powder Works, LLC is the only known source capable of providing this equipment due to its proprietary technology, and no other vendors have authorized third-party service providers for this specific machine. This procurement is being pursued under a sole source justification based on the unique capabilities of the equipment and the lack of viable alternatives from other manufacturers.This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals and no solicitation document exists for the requirement.
