Description
The Space Development Agency (SDA) anticipates soliciting proposals from industry for the Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture (PWSA) Tranche 3 Transport Layer Upsilon (T3TLυ). The T3TLυ constellation will consist of four (4) orbital planes with ten (10) T3TLυ SVs in each plane, and the government intends to make two awards of twenty (20) vehicles each. Every T3TLυ SV will be interoperable with all PWSA SVs, regardless of vendor. The T3TLυ SVs will include optical communications terminals (OCTs) to support in-plane and cross-plane crosslinks, links to terrestrial OCTs (ground, air, and maritime), and crosslinks to compatible SVs external to the Transport Layer. The T3TLυ SVs provide TACSATCOM bidirectional communications links with select tactical users worldwide via UHF and S-band communications, as well as Integrated Broadcast Service (IBS) - Low Earth Orbit (LEO) (IBS-L) space-based broadcast of threat warning, situational awareness, targeting, and C2 data to warfighters worldwide via UHF communications.
