- The William S. Hart Union High School District seeks a school bus Company to provide pupil transportation services. The Hart District will provide the buses, a vehicle repair facility, a parking area for all buses, and office facilities and equipment. The Hart District requires that the Company provide the management expertise, the necessary regular and standby drivers, vehicle mechanics, and driver training and safety personnel. Furthermore, the Company shall have use of the buses and facilities for the term of this Contract and operate and maintain the buses to the standards of the Hart District. Hart District vehicles shall be used only for Hart District service.The Hart District is located in the Santa Clarita Valley area. It serves the City of Santa Clarita and surrounding unincorporated areas which covers approximately 400 square miles of territory. Of particular note, the Newhall Elementary School District (Newhall District) located in the City of Santa Clarita has contracted with Storer Transportation. The Newhall District has a joint use agreement with the Hart District to use the vehicle repair facility, parking area for all buses and office facilities and equipment. The Newhall Elementary School Districts contract term runs from July 1, 2024 to June 30, 2029, with options to renew by mutual consent as allowed by law. If a contract is awarded for the services outline in this RFP, the Company will share the space with the Newhall Districts transportation provider.
