This announcement constitutes the only notice of intent to sole source and synopsis of proposed action.Louis A. Johnson Veterans Administration Medical Center intends to negotiate/award a sole-source contract to Carefusion Solutions, LLC due to the proprietary nature of the equipment. The contract will be a Firm Fixed award. The statutory authority for this noncompetitive acquisition is FAR 13.106- 1(b) as implemented by FAR 6.302-1.The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code for this procurement is 541519, and the Product Service Code (PSC) is J065. The Department of Veterans Affairs intends to solicit and award an Open Market Sole Source Firm Fixed award for a Service Subscription for Pyxis Knowledge Portal for the Louis A. Johnson Veterans Administration Medical Center located at 1 Medical Center Drive, Clarksburg, West Virginia 25704.CareFusion Solutions, LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Becton Dickinson and Company (BD), is the exclusive manufacture and provider of Pyxis products and services and the sole company capable of performing installation and maintenance.BD does not currently have any authorization or certification process in place for companies performing service or maintenance on Pyxis equipment. Any service or maintenance performed by a third-party vendor, other than our Field Service Technician Affiliates, would render null and void any existing warranty and be unsupported by CareFusion Solutions, LLC.BD, as the manufacturer, offers maintenance and many other services to support BD Pyxis products.Additionally, BD does not currently provide any authorization to allow acquisition of leased Pyxis equipment through...
