Description:
The project purpose is to construct a rail trail from the City of Santa Cruz Wharf roundabout on Beach Street to 17th Avenue in the County of Santa Cruz. This is a joint City, County and SCCRTC project, with city Public Works staff taking the lead role. It is grant funded through the state and federal Active Transportation Programs (ATP). The right-of-way needs are focused in Segment 9, from the San Lorenzo River to 17th Avenue along the SCCTRC rail corridor.The ROW easements will be acquired in the SCCRTC-s name. The list of anticipated above and below ground easements is listed in Exhibit 1. They may vary in size and number as the project design is completed.The anticipated schedule for the ROW process is from April 2025 through June 30, 2026 with ROW certification in August 2026.
