Tender are invited for Notice of Proposed Revision to Power Cost Equalization Base AmountThe REGULATORY COMMISSION OF ALASKA (Commission) gives notice that pursuant to AS 42.45.110(c)(2) and 3 AAC 52.610(b) through (c), it has opened Docket U-25-010 to propose a revised base amount for Power Cost Equalization (PCE) calculations. AS 42.45.110(c)(2) provides in part:“each year, the commission shall adjust the power costs for which power cost equalization may be paid to an electric utility based on the weighted average retail residential rate in Anchorage, Fairbanks, and Juneau . . .”The current base amount is 19.92 cents per kilowatt-hour (¢/kWh). The Commission proposes to adjust the base amount to 20.38¢/kWh. The proposed 20.38¢/kWh base amount is a calculation of the weighted average cost of residential energy sales within Anchorage, Fairbanks, and Juneau during calendar year 2024.The utilities providing service to these areas during 2024 were Chugach Electric Association, Inc.
