Tender are invited for Notice of Utility Tariff FilingThe REGULATORY COMMISSION OF ALASKA (Commission) gives notice that Golden Valley Electric Association, Inc. (GVEA) filed TA396-13, seeking Commission approval of a special contract with Usibelli Coal Mine, Inc. (UCM) for power sales (special contract). Under the terms of the special contract, GVEA will not utilize UCM-s mining dragline demand in the calculation of UCM's demand ratchet for the shorter of a) a one-year period of time; b) until the mining dragline is returned to operation; or, c) any earlier termination as permitted under the special contract. If UCM-s mining dragline is relocated, the special contract allows UCM to conduct a partial startup of the dragline for testing and troubleshooting purposes during re-installation without terminating the demand rachet exemption, so long as UCM provides a minimum of ninety days- notice to GVEA.
