The USGS Conte Anadromous Fish Lab Facility located in Turners Falls, MA has a requirement for the repairs of a leaking underground water line for Burrows Pond. The Conte Lab has a series of 3-8' deep concrete burrows ponds for fisheries holding and experimentation, referred to as the "upper burrows ponds". They are supplied by gravity fed water piping originating at the nearby power canal. Each pond has two 6" PVC supply lines, located at opposite corners. The main supply line is a 12" PVC pipe, there are 5-12"x6" tees with 6" butterfly valves and, at the end of the supply pipe, one 12"x6" reducer, then a "6 90 and a 6" butterfly valve. It has been determined that a significant water leak is present at this last fitting and valve connection. The specific dredging includes, but not limited to the following:- Saw cut asphalt, remove from site for recycling.- Excavate around valve and fitting to a depth of approximately 9-10' below grade.- Perform leak test, determine location and extent of repair.- Complete all repairs, test for leaks.- Work will take place in the following county in Massachusetts: Franklin- Period of Performance is 86 days after notice to proceed is issued.- The magnitude of construction is between is unknown since part of the contract is Time and Materials.- Request for Quotes (RFQ) 140G0125Q0029 will close February 21, 2025, at 10:00 am pacific standard time. - A site visit will be held on February 12, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. (EST) CONTRACTORS ARE STRONGLY ENCOURAGED TO ATTEND THE SITE VISIT.
