Request for Information (RFI) - Global Communications Backhaul Solution
1. Introduction
Space Rapid Capability Office is seeking information and pricing for a robust and redundant communications backhaul solution connected to Schriever Space Force Base, Colorado United States. This RFI outlines our key requirements and invites qualified telecommunications providers to submit their proposed solutions.
2. Network (Government or Vendor-s Private Fiber Network) Requirements
Bandwidth: 2Gbps symmetrical (2Gbps upload and 2Gbps download) for each location. Latency: Lowest possible latency, capable for WAN transports utilizing Satellite Communications (SATCOM). Redundancy: Fully redundant solution with automatic failover to ensure continuous connectivity. Diverse routing (different submarine cables, terrestrial paths, or a combination of fiber and satellite) is highly preferred. Type-1 encryption solutions for dual-redundant communications. Locations: Headquarters: Schriever Space Force Base, Colorado Branch Offices: Vandenberg Space Force Base, California Peterson Space Force Base, Colorado Operating Locations Vandenberg Space Force Base, California Georgia, US Italy Geraldton ADSCS, Australia Brisbane, Australia (on or about Camp Kerr area) Hawaii, US Applications: The system is a hybrid cloud network with some components on-premises and some in the cloud. The network will support a variety of applications, including: Data transfer (large file sharing, backups). Voice over IP (VoIP). Video conferencing. Cloud applications. Security: Robust security measures are essential. This includes, but is not limited to: Data encryption in transit and at rest. Type-1 Encryption. Firewall protection. Intrusion detection and prevention systems. Anti-virus and anti-malware applications. Uploading and installing software patches, applying Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and version updates through the long haul (WAN) network.
