- The Texas Historical Commission seeks a generalcontractor firm that has documented experience with projects of the type, scaleand scope described in this RFP. Contractor must have a MINIMUM of 8 years-experience in construction similar to the type of work required by theseContract Documents (as judged by THC) to be eligible for contract award. THCrequires all work to comply with all applicable Federal and State laws, codes,and standards.The Eisenhower Birthplace Home is a two-story craftsmanhouse at the Eisenhower Birthplace State Historic Site and was built in 1877. Thehome is of wood frame construction featuring three prominent roof gables on thefront façade. The dining room and kitchen are under a single-storyroof at the back of the house. The scope of work involves theremoval and disposal of the existing wood roof shingles and the replacementwith new wood roof shingles. Associated sheet metal flashing willalso be replaced with new material. Additional information regardingproject scope and details is further defined in the project specifications andconstruction documents.
