Tender are invited for The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) is soliciting comments on the proposed drainage improvements at MP 2.4 on the Copper River Highway in Cordova, Alaska. DOT&PF is proposing to install four new 36-inch diameter culverts to improve drainage as this area is prone to flooding during spring break up and large storm events. Additional work includes installation of erosion control at inlet and outlet ends of the culverts, resurfacing of road surface, guardrail replacement, clearing of built-up debris from ditches, and vegetation clearing. We are currently working on conceptual designs, engineering, and environmental studies. Construction is currently planned for spring 2025. DOT&PF requests information and comments on resources in the project area that may be affected including historic properties, archaeological sites, wetlands, and Copper River floodplains.
