Description:
Issued: The Port of San Francisco (“Port”), through this Request for Interest (“RFI”), is soliciting responses from qualified designer manufacturing companies (“Respondents”) that are interested in providing a customized flake ice production and distribution machine for the packing and storage of seafood products at Fisherman-s Wharf. Responses to this RFI are due by 5 pm PT on January 10, 2025 at 2 pm PT via email to proposals@sfport.com. Questions must be received by 5 pm pt on December 22, 2023 5 pm PT via email to proposals@sfport.com. Introduction: The Port requires a customized flake ice production and distribution machine for the packing and storage of seafood products at Fisherman-s Wharf during active fishing seasons. The machine is to be installed by a licensed contractor at Pier 45 in the Shed Bay D-4. The machine must be installed between crab and salmon fishing seasons (as determined by the California Department of Fish and Wildlife), roughly March 1st -May 31st 2024. If the work is not completed within this window, the work will be delayed until the next break between fishing seasons. Goals of this RFI: Through this RFI, the Port seeks to identify interested design, construction, and manufacturing companies and to gauge interest in such a project. The Port intends on advertising at a later date a Request for Proposals for a Design Build contract for the customized design, manufacturing, and installation of an ice machine that fits the Performance Specs listed below. In addition, the Port intends to publish a future Request for Proposals (RFP) for the design, construction, manufacturing, and installation of an ice machine at Pier 45 in Shed Bay D-4. The Port in its discretion may include information from the responses to this RFI as an Appendix to such an RFP. The Port is not pre-qualifying firms through this process.
