REQUEST FOR INFORMATIONFisheye Night Sky Imager Housing Design and BuildThe purpose of this Request for Information (RFI) 140P2125R0019 is to identify contractors capable to design and build one environmental housing for a fisheye night sky imager and develop a data upload/download routine to remotely transmit data and camera commands between the deployment location and an NPS office.NPS has developed a new fisheye camera system (fisheye night sky imager) which can capture the entire night sky in a single shot, is less expensive than other night sky camera systems, and allows for more flexibility in when and where data can be collected. NPS does not have the expertise to develop and build an enclosure for the fisheye night sky imager so that it can be deployed for long periods of time in remote national park sites, nor does it have the expertise to develop a data upload/download routine to transmit data from remote camera sites to NPS work sites. NPS seeks assistance with these tasks so that the fisheye night sky imager can be deployed and used as a complement to existing NPS camera systems. This will help NSNSD provide high quality information about night sky quality (and trends) to national parks in a timely manner. (See attached Statement of Work).Please be advised that your participation in this RFI 140P2125R0019 is not required to ensure participation in future solicitations and contract awards. Participation is this RFI is voluntary, and the Government will not reimburse participants for any expenses associated with their participation in this RFI. There is no commitment by the Government to issue a solicitation as a result of this RFI. Responses to this notice are not offers and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract. Respondents will not be notified of the result of the review.Part I.
