- The intended purpose for this Invitation for Bid is to obtain an annual price agreement for Flexible Base road material. This bid is not for a specific project but to obtain pricing for material that will be ordered on an as-needed basis only. Flexible Base (Grade 1, Type A) must meet or exceed the standards set forth in item 247 (Flexible Base), Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) 2014 Standard Specifications for Construction and Maintenance of Highways, Streets and Bridges or most current. Flexible Base must also meet or exceed the requirements of a magnesium soundness value test in accordance with Tex-411-A. (Crushed concrete is not acceptable.)
