- The Champaign Urbana Solid Waste Disposal System (CUSWDS) administered by the City of Urbana is seeking services for collection and chemical analyses of groundwater, surface water, and leachate samples from the Urbana Landfill Complex.The Landfill Complex is host to a fire training range, police firing range, arbor shop, solar farm, and retail Landscape Recycling Center. Public access to property is 8:00am to 3:30pm Monday through Friday (plus Saturday seasonally). Additional hours for sampling may be arranged and a key provided.The City of Urbana provides staffing for CUSWDS. CUSWDS retains a consultant to supervise monitoring activities and to evaluate groundwater level and water quality data.While there is no active Illinois Environmental Protection Agency permit for this property, the sampling solicited here generally follows the parameters of PART 814 SUBPART C and sanitary district permit requirements.
