- The County Commissioners of Charles County are hereby requesting sealed proposals from qualified firms to provide congregate meals to four (4) Senior Centers in Charles County. Congregate Meals provide a lunch option in four (4) Senior Centers throughout Charles County this service provides home meals to senior citizens across the county. Each meal must provide a minimum of 1/3 of the Recommended Dietary Allowance (RDA), as established by the Food and Nutrition Board of the National Academy of Sciences/National Research Council, meet the current state menu standards, and must meet other quality assurance standards, as described herein. Provided meals must be wholesome, suitable for human consumption, and which satisfy all applicable nutrition and health requirements, including those of the United States Department of Health and Human Services, other federal regulatory agencies, and all State and Local requirements governing standards of food procurement, storage, production, handling and delivery.
