DESCRIPTION OF WORK1.1. Objectives. All work shall comply with State, Local and Federal laws and regulations, industry andconstruction codes and standards, manufacturer's specifications and recommendations, and all contract specialprovisions, terms and conditions. The Contractor shall be responsible for obtaining all required licenses andpermits to perform construction work on a Federal installation, and be properly bonded and insured inaccordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) requirements. The intent of the contract is to provide forthe construction and completion of the work described. The precise details of performing the work are notstipulated except as considered essential for the successful completion of the work. The Contractor shall furnishall labor, material, equipment, tools, transportation, and supplies necessary to complete the work according tothe contract. The purpose of this project is to extended sewer service to Building 90140. This project consists ofthe installation of a new 6-inch diameter pvc sewer service line and a new 48- inch diameter concrete servicemanhole.1.2. Period of Performance. After contract award, the Contracting Officer will issue a PreconstructionAuthorization. The Preconstruction Authorization is for Administrative and Pre- construction Activities (i.e., preconstructiontasks including coordination with any Government office or the Contracting Officer Representativefor example bonds, submittals in accordance with (IAW) Section 2.13.3.2, traffic control plans, digging permits,utility outage requests, oral presentations, approvals for safety plans, and schedules). PreconstructionAuthorization is limited to 30 days and non-construction activities. After the first 30 days (PreconstructionAuthorization), the Contracting Officer will issue Construction Notice to Proceed (NTP).
