Request for Proposals (RFP) No. SFMTA-2026-19-FTA: As-Needed Specialized Vehicle Engineering and Other Related Consulting Services This Request for Proposals (RFP) is being issued by the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA or Agency). The SFMTA is seeking qualified consultants (Proposers) to provide proposals for As-Needed Specialized Vehicle Engineering and Other Related Consulting Services (Proposals) for various projects, including the implementation and completion of transit vehicle and transit-related equipment procurements, maintenance-of-way projects, operational scenario model projects, asset management projects, service planning projects, transit system projects, and rehabilitation and replacement projects. Services may include design analysis, structural finite element analysis, engineering calculations, quality control inspection, feasibility studies, administrative support, vehicle acceptance and testing, warranty administration, and federally required cost analyses. The Consultant may be asked to perform other tasks related to the maintenance and operation of the transit vehicles and facilities, including assisting with fare collection, advanced train control systems, data communications, passenger information systems, vehicle telematics systems, charging infrastructure software systems, and associated equipment. The intent of the professional services contract is to enable the SFMTA to obtain technical assistance from the selected Consultants on short notice on an as-needed basis. The SFMTA shall order services covered by the awarded contract through the issuance of individual Purchase Orders and/or Task Orders which shall be released against the awarded contract during the contract term. The SFMTA anticipates awarding three contracts pursuant to this RFP, each with a maximum amount of $5,000,000 and a maximum term of five years, with the option for a period of four additional years.
