DESCRIPTION
U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District plans to solicit offers for a Design-Bid-Build (DBB) (construction only) firm-fixed-price type contract for Renovate Sijan Hall - Phase One at US Air Force Academy (USAFA), Colorado. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), in accordance with FAR 6.302-1(c), intends to specify the following brand name item as part of the construction contract. The project includes the sole-source procurement of brand name Siemens HVAC Controls. The anticipated brand name is Siemens. A sources sought was issued under Notice ID W9128F25SM021 by USACE requesting information on possible alternative products that met the construction specifications. Interested firms were encouraged to submit capability statements. USACE Omaha reviewed all responses to W9128F25SM021 and determined that brand name equipment was justified and warranted execution of a Justification and Approval (J&A). The basis of the J&A is to implement an installation standardization of HVAC Controls manufacturers to reduce overall costs and increase overall performance efficiencies.
This is not a formal solicitation or request for quote. This synopsis of intent is to give notice of the Government-s intent to use brand name requirements Siemens for HVAC Controls for the Renovate Sijan Hall - Phase One project at USAFA. The government intends to proceed with brand name requirements and include a fully executed J&A with the solicitation.
