This is a Sole Source synopsis published for informational purposes only.
The United States Air Force Test Center/Directorate of Contracting (AFTC/PZZG), Edwards AFB, CA intends to issue a sole source contract to Aerospace Driven Technologies, Inc. located at 2807 Catherine Way Santa Ana, CA 92705to supply an F-22 Cockpit Simulator at Edwards AFB, CA. The contract will be executed by means of other than full and open competition, due to Aerospace Driven Technologies, Inc. being the only capable vendor to supply product.In order to comply with FAR 5.207(c)(15), the reason for lack of competition is as follows: Aerospace Driven Technologies, Inc. (DBA Driven Technologies) is the only vendor capable of providing this requirement and they do not have any authorized resellers of their equipment. The F-22 Cockpit must be compatible with and able to interface with current systems. Purchasing a different cockpit would require substantial duplication of cost the government and unnecessary time to develop. Additionally, the system is proprietary to Boeing and Lockheed due to aircraft configurations which would require cooperation with those contractors in order to develop any other solutions which could take approximately a year or more to achieve.
