Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Crane has a requirement for quantity 14 Integrated Microwave Assemblies (IMA) in accordance with drawings and a statement of work.
The proposed contract action is for the supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with one source, CAES MISSION SYSTEMS LLC 10 Sonar DR., Woburn, Massachusetts 01801, under the authority of FAR 13.106-1. This is being sole sourced because The CAES IMAs were the only ones tested, qualified, and approved for use on the EA- 18G aircraft for the WRA 1-4 assemblies. Another firm could possibly develop this technology but these efforts would take approximately 18 months and is cost the government to validate and qualify for use in tactical jamming aircraft. All responsible sources may submit a capability statement, which shall be considered by the agency. However, a determination by the
Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this solicitation is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
