Description
The Navajo Area Indian Health Service (NAIHS), Northern Navajo Medical Center intends to make a sole source award to University of Utah, for Oversight of Anesthesia Services stated in the attached Performance Work Statement to be provided to the Northern Navajo Medical Center Anesthesia program stated therein.
The Period of Performance will be for twelve (12) continuous months beginning from the Date of Award.
This award will be made IAW FAR 13.106-3(a)(2)(i) Soliciting from a Single Source.
The Contractor, University of Utah, is the only organization uniquely qualified to provide the required oversight of the NNMC Anesthesia Program in accordance with CMS Conditions of Participation 42 CFR 482.52 that states. “if the hospital furnishes anesthesia services, they must be provided in a well-organized manner under the direction of a qualified doctor of medicine or osteopathy. The service is responsible for all anesthesia administered in the hospital.” The oversight may be provided via telehealth, onsite chart reviews and direct patient care or a combination of the two.
This notice of intent to award a sole source contract is not a request for competitive proposals. There will be no solicitation available for competitive quotes. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government. If no affirmative written response is by 12:00 PM Mountain Standard Time (MST) on Thursday, March 6, 2025 the contract will be issued without further notice.
A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement base upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement in the future.
