The Northwest Water Reclamation Facility (NWWRF) relies on the Kruger/Hydrotech Discfilter system as a critical component of its tertiary treatment process. These filters are essential for maintaining high-quality effluent, particularly during extreme weather events when the system must manage high-flow conditions. The filters have exceeded their recommended five-year maintenance cycle, and timely replacement of wear items is necessary to prevent reduced treatment efficiency, increased maintenance costs, and potential safety risks.Veolia Water Technologies & Solutions, doing business as Kruger, is the sole source for the proprietary equipment, OEM replacement parts, and specialized services required to maintain this system. The use of non-OEM components or unauthorized service providers could compromise performance, void warranties, and jeopardize regulatory compliance. Veolia has confirmed in the attached letter that they are the exclusive supplier for all Kruger/Hydrotech Discfilter system components and services.To ensure operational continuity, protect public health, and maintain regulatory standards, approval of this sole source request is necessary.
