Notice of intent to use a brand name product. The Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC) Marianas is performing a market survey to determine if other potential sources of supply can provide a fire department access box and padlock that have equal performance and listing/approval requirements as the Knox Box Fire Department Access Box and Padlock
Fiscal Year 2026 Military Construction P-819 project, Polaris Point, Naval Base Guam, Guam has a requirement that must meet compliance with Naval Base Guam Fire and Emergency Services (NBG F&ES) security requirements for a fire department access box and padlock with the following characteristics:
1. An approved secure box accessible by a master key or control for the containment of entrance keys or other devices to gain access to a structure or area to allow for quick and nondestructive entry into a building during emergency situations.
2. Boxes must be tested to meet Underwriters Laboratories (UL) 1037 - Standard for Antitheft Alarms and Devices, indicating a satisfactory level of security for the building keys.
3. Padlocks must also be accessible by a master key for quick and nondestructive entry into a secured area during emergency situations.
4. Access Box and Padlock must meet NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) 1 requirements for Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) Approval.
This notification is for market research purposes only to identify if other potential sources of supply can meet the requirements of the Government. This is not a request for proposals, quotes, or an invitation for bid. The intent of this notice is to identify other potential sources of this product.
