BACKGROUND

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is seeking information from sources that may be capable of providing a High Sensitivity Cooled SWIR Camera. If no alternate sources are identified, the Government intends to issue a Sole Source Award to Pembroke Instruments, LLC (120 Stanford Heights Avenue, San Francisco, CA 94127) under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) only one reasonably found source. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 334516.
NIST has a need for a High Sensitivity Cooled SWIR Camera that meets or exceeds the following draft minimum specifications:
NIST requires a high sensitivity thermoelectrically cooled short wave infrared (SWIR) camera to image two-dimensional atomic layers of quantum materials. The camera will be mounted on an existing optical microscope at NIST and used with high-magnification objective lenses. To image these materials poses challenges with low signal contrast, and therefore the camera must have low dark current obtained by a cooled sensor, and a small package to mount on top of an optical microscope. These quantum materials are used to fabricate mission-critical devices related to NIST-s missions of metrology for quantum information science and electrical standards dissemination.
