The Government is issuing this Sources Sought announcement in accordance with FAR 15.201(d) as a part of market research and to determine the availability of sources to provide ruggedized laptops in support of the Electronic Maintenance Support System (EMSS) in support of the Marine Corps Program of Record (PoR). The requirement is to procure ruggedized laptops as well as all accessories and applicable equipment. The end-user is: Marine Corps Maintainer in the following Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) in utilities, engineering, ordnance, ground electronics, and motor transport, (11XX, 13XX, 21XX, 28XX, and 35XX).
Attachment contains EMSS Kit specifications including the ruggedized laptop and all accessories that would be procured with each laptop. Must be TAA compliant products. The Government is anticipating a 3-year ordering period and a firm-fixed-priced type of contract. Requirement is to procure anywhere from 1-3000 electronic maintenance devices (EMD) or accessories each year.
Information may be submitted by any government or non-government entity including commercial firms, non-profit organizations, and any institutions of higher education with degree-granting programs in science and/or engineering (universities), or by consortia comprising such concerns. The Crane Division encourages participation by small business, woman-owned small business, veteran-owned small business, and historically black colleges and universities.
The Government may choose to visit, or host a visit from, any potential sources. This request for Sources Sought in no way implies either implicitly or explicitly that respondents will be compensated in any way by the Government for information provided.
