The Government intends to procure, under only one responsible source, where no other suppliers or service will satisfy the agency requirements. The Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command, Hawaii (NAVFAC Hawaii) is conducting market research to determine if other potential products/services can provide an adapter panel that converts RJ45 serial ports to DB-9 connectors that has equal performance capabilities as the SEL-2902, manufactured by Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL), 2902 NE Hopkins Court, Pullman, WA 99163. The alternate product/service must meet the following requirements/specifications:
Provide an adapter panel that converts RJ45 serial ports to DB-9 connectors with the following capabilities:
Adapts the RJ45 ports found on newer SEL devices to the DB-9 connectors used by older existing serial cables and transceivers. Options for rack mounting, surface mounting and DIN rail mounting. Designed to facilitate the transition from older SEL communication processors to new SEL RTACs without needing to replace existing serial wiring or cable.
