Market Survey for Water Quality Program Mussel Surveys
A market survey is being conducted to determine if there are a reasonable number of interested small business concerns to set this future project aside for them. If your firm is a Small Business, certified HUBZone, 8A, Woman-Owned Small Business or Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Business and you are interested in this project please respond appropriately.

Project Location: Within the Ohio River watershed

Project Description: Surveys of freshwater mussels within waters of the Ohio River watershed, typically in relation to Louisville District projects. Surveys will include diving and may include: identifying mussel species and estimating abundance, density, and population/community metrics; recording measurements of individuals (e.g., maximum length); mapping river bed areas for existing mussel beds, determining suitable dredging disposal areas (presence or absence of mussels) or other general mussel resource location information; determining quantitative or qualitative changes in known mussel beds areas, determining mussel density information; and/or relocating mussel resources prior to some disruptive work activity.

Contract duration is estimated at 365 calendar days for the base contract with an additional four (4) option years attached to the base contract. The estimated cost range is between $500,000.00 to $1,000,000 (FAR 36.204 & DFARS 236.204). NAICS code is 541370 - Surveying and Mapping (except Geophysical) Services. All interested Small Businesses, certified HUBZONE, 8A, Woman-Owned Small Business or Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Business contractors should respond to this survey via email to ethan.s.phillips@usace.army.mil by Tuesday, May 20, 2025 by 1:00 PM Eastern Time.
