***The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration-s (NOAA) Acquisition & Grants Office (AGO), Western Acquisition Division-Seattle (WAD), National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS), intends to negotiate, on a sole source basis, under authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1), with Johnson Controls Fire Protection LP located in Boca Raton, FL for Simplex Fire System Services, Testing and Repairs to be performed at Santa Cruz, CA.
***The sole source determination is based on NOAA-s requirement that Johnson Controls Fire Protection LP is the only vendor that manufactures and distributes this Simplex Fire System Services, Testing and Repairs. The current fire suppression system at the Santa Cruz Lab is made by SimplexGrinnell (Johnson Controls). All parts and updates to the system must be compatible with the SimplexGrinnell system. Simplex fire alarm panels are proprietary, and Johnson Controls is the only company authorized to program/repair these panels. Johnson Controls has performed the inspection and maintenance services for this system in the past and is the only authorized contractor to perform these services in order to maintain the warranties and certifications. Johnson Controls Fire Protection LP does not have any authorized resellers.
Period of Performance: 04/01/2025 to 08/31/2029.
***This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals and no solicitation package is available. However, firms that believe they can fully meet the government's requirements may submit substantiating documentation in writing to the identified point of contact within 15 days after publication of this synopsis. Such documentation will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the government not to conduct a competitive procurement, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government.
