Special Notice for Sole SourceThe National Park Service, ConOps National, Washington, DC intends to award a noncompetitive contract to Sevier County Utility District, 420 Robert Henderson Road, Sevierville, TN 37862, in accordance with FAR 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source, for the purpose of extending natural gas services to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Sugarlands Headquarters Building, North District Maintenance Area, and Sugarland Residence. This work includes approximately 11,300 linear feet of 4-inch polyethylene pipe and will be placed along Newfound Gap Road/US 441 from the park boundary in Gatlinburg to the Headquarters Building and along the park Headquarters Road. There will also be approximately 2,000 linear feet of 2-inch polyethene pipe that will need to be installed along Sugarland Residence Road. Additionally, heating is required for the Headquarters Building that is being remodeled and for future construction projects at the park requiring extended natural gas heat service. The park is located outside of Gatlinburg, TN and Gatlinburg does not have the resources to provide natural gas to the area. The next closest municipality is Sevierville, TN houses Sevier County Utility District (SCUD), which is the only gas supplier in the area, and supplier of gas service to Gatlinburg. The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code for this procurement is 221210, Natural Gas Distribution.The government intends to award a sole source purchase order to Sevier County Utility District.
