- Description : Summit Evolution is being purchased to become the primary photogrammetry solution for the Office of Photogrammetry and Preliminary Investigations (OPPI). This software is compatible with both Autodesk and Bentley CADD solutions which will position OPPI to provide statewide mapping products for whichever Building Information Modeling for Infrastructure (BIM4i) common data environment (CDE) Caltrans chooses. Additionally, the Summit Evolution software has capabilities to view LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) point cloud together with photogrammetry data which is an improvement over current capabilities.
