Tender are invited for Notice of Extended Comment Period of Utility Tariff FilingOn December 23, 2024, the REGULATORY COMMISSION OF ALASKA (Commission) issued a public notice related to TA7-521, a revenue requirement study based on a 2023 test year filed by Goat Lake Hydro, Inc. (GLH). The Commission requested comments no later than January 6, 2025. With this notice, the Commission extends the public comment period to January 24, 2025.With TA7-521, GLH requests a permanent increase to its wholesale rate from $0.06301/kWh to $0.10710/kWh. Should the Commission suspend the filing, GLH has requested an interim rate of $0.08820/kWh. GLH provides wholesale service to Alaska Power Company (APC) and APC includes its GLH costs in its cost of power adjustment (COPA) surcharge. Shown below is a sample of a 500-kWh residential customer bill for APC customers in Haines, and Skagway, based on APC-s most recently approved COPA at the current, proposed interim, and proposed permanent rate.
