TECHNICAL SERVICES TO INSTALLSEAL KIT FOR DRIVE END OF THE MAIN REDUCTION GEAR

Background. While HAMILTON is operating the NR1 Main Reduction Gear (MRG), SF noticed the lubrication grease is falling out from the NR1 MRG drive end input shaft. During previous seal greasing it was noticed that the seal appears to be blown out or failed.

Scope. MTU Rolls Royce Solutions America send a qualified technician to assist ships force in the install of the rotary shaft seal.
GFE: 6458657 ROTARY SHAFT SEAL RENK POS. 1385 (Seal is located on cutter) Tasks. The contractor shall provide technical expertise for proper installation of seal for the MRG. Install with the crew of the HAMILTON.
Delivery. Contractor shall provide a final report within 3 days of contract period of performance.
