Description
The Department of Homeland Security has decided to terminate all FirstSource III Functional Category 1 ITVAR (Information Technology Value Added Reseller) contracts and cancel the solicitation and its evaluation of proposals submitted under Functional Category 2 (Software). No further awards will be made.
In alignment with recent Executive Orders, the Department conducted a thorough analysis of active contract awards and solicitations to assess mission-criticality and continued needs. As a result of the analysis and findings, FirstSource III was determined to be a non-mission critical contract that would provide redundant offerings available through existing General Services Administration (GSA) and other Government-wide solutions. Therefore, in alignment with Executive Order 14240 “Eliminating Waste and Saving Taxpayer Dollars by Consolidating Procurement”, which calls for the consolidation of Federal procurement for common goods and services under GSA solutions and the designation of GSA as the Executive Agent for Information Technology Contracts, the Department is taking action to terminate existing FirstSource III contracts and cancel the solicitation. The Department will continue to leverage existing GSA and government-wide contract solutions, such as NASA SEWP, for future IT requirements.
The Department would like to express its appreciation to its FirstSource III contract holders for the support they have provided to DHS throughout the years and would like to thank the offerors who participated in the solicitation process.
