Bid Synopsis:This section provides information about what the State intends to purchase, the scope of the project and the primary objectives of the solicitation. The Wisconsin DNR seeks proposals from qualified camera manufacturers to provide modified trail cameras. The following Specifications detail the trail cameras that ensure the continued operation of the Department-s network of reliable, user-friendly trail cameras for wildlife monitoring in Wisconsin. The Snapshot Wisconsin program has purchased over 6,000 trail cameras from a previous vendor since the program began in 2015. Our original vendor is no longer able to meet our needs, and we are seeking a new camera supplier. To remain consistent with data collection, it is vital that the provided Mandatory Specifications are met. The Department-s Specifications may require specialized trail cameras that are not available currently. Specifically, the Department requires cameras that have fixed settings and individual photo encryption. We anticipate purchasing 1,000 cameras in the first year followed by an average of 250-500/year over the life of this contract dependent on the per unit cost of cameras. Upon initiation of the contract the Department will purchase a batch of 10-20 cameras to confirm specifications and quality standards of final product are met prior to initial full batch purchase.
