The United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Sacramento District (SPK) anticipates a potential requirement for Design Build (DB) construction services to identify existing overhead (OH) power lines and design the replacement of these elements with the construction of new underground (UG) wiring and fiber optic/copper infrastructure at Fort Hunter Liggett (FHL), located in Monterey County, California (CA).
This project is anticipated to include the replacement of a length of OH primary conductors with UG distribution infrastructure, the removal of one (1) existing abandoned-in-place pole-mounted transformer, replacement of four existing switchgears with new, motorized, activation switchgears with Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) control, Real-Time Automation Controller (RTAC), relays, etc., demolition and removal of three (3) remaining wooden utility poles, replacement of one (1) existing wooden utility pole with OH conductors, an air insulated switch, and new pad-mounted Vacuum Fault Interrupter (VFI) switchgear, removal of one (1) existing abandoned-in-place pole-mounted transformer, and replacement of three (3) short segments of OH primary conductors with wooden poles at each end with underground feeders in duct banks.
Geographical areas covered by this project are anticipated to be unconnected and spread out over large areas of the FHL area of responsibility. Peripheral aspects of this project may also include erosion control, traffic control, and the unification of new and existing UG infrastructure.
The potential requirement may result in a firm-fixed-price solicitation issued July 2024. If solicited, the Government intends to award the requirement by approximately September 2024.
The Government estimates the anticipated requirement can be designed within one-hundred-eighty (180) days and constructed within six-hundred-thirty days (630) calendar days. If market conditions indicate this estimate may be unreali... - Documents:
