The Electron Multiplying Charge-Coupled Device (EMCCD) Camera will be critical to carrying out ongoing research in The Physics Department (DFPM) relating to two ongoing projects: Laser cooling and trapping of Silicon (Si) Atoms toward novel quantum qubit (quantum bit - basic unit of information in a quantum computer) fabrication, and Xenon (Xe) Atom Trap Trace Analysis (ATTA system).
