The Sources Sought number is FY25_USAFA_ Stratasys_Fortus_450mc and shall be used to reference any written responses to this sources sought.

The United States Air Force Academy (USAFA) anticipates a requirement that is being considered under a small business set-aside program. The North American Industry Classification Systems (NAICS) Code proposed is 335999. The size standard for NAICS is 600 employees.

This requirement is for USAFA to obtain a replacement industrial polymer 3D printer that can print mid-sized (
400mm^3) FAA/USAF qualified aircraft components in order to fulfill mechanical engineering senior design projects sponsored by numerous United States Air Force (USAF) organizations.

A Brand Name J&A for Stratasys Fortus 450mc will be provided at the time of the RFQ.

SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS/REQUIREMENT SPECIFICATIONS:

BRAND NAME: Stratasys Fortus 450mc

At a minimum, the equipment must:
Have a build volume greater than or equal to 16x14x16 inches. Print using the Fused-Filament-Fabrication method Print certified, engineering grade, high performance thermoplastics such as certified Ultem 9085, Ultem 9085, Ultem 1010, ASA, Antero 800NA, Nylon 12CF, and dissolvable support. Provide data sheets with data on mechanical properties Be able to produce USAF/FAA approved parts for use on USAF aircraft. Have a minimum print layer thickness of around 0.005 inches.
