Southwest Regional Maintenance Center (SWRMC) Code 410B Procurement intends to award a Sole Source contract to Fairbanks Morse Defense to provide the direct replacement parts for the USS SOMERSET (LPD-25) to overhaul two (2) of the ships main propulsion diesel engines (MPDE) in support of the FY-25 Dry Docking Selected Restricted Availability. The requirement will be processed in accordance with FAR part 15. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is NAICS 333618, Other Engine Equipment Manufacturing, and the business size standard is 1,500 employees. Fairbanks Morse Defense is the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) of the ships main propulsion diesel engines (MPDE). The required parts must be replaced with the same material previously used and must have the same function capability as the part is attached to the component. In addition, the replacement part must be compatible in all aspects to form, fit, and function with existing equipment. Fairbanks Morse Defense has no authorized distributors and is the only known source available to acquire the required part. This notice is neither a request nor a solicitation of offers; however, all information received within 15 days after the date of publication of this synopsis will be reviewed by the Government for future considerations. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether conducting a competitive procurement in the future is in the best interest of the Government. Responses must provide clean and concise documentation indicating vendors bona fide capability to provide this product or equivalency.
