THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE ONLY. This is not a solicitation or a request for proposal and no contract will be awarded from this notice. No solicitation or specifications are available at this time.
The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is conducting market research to identify qualified and capable firms who would be interested in submitting proposals for the requirement stated below. In particular, small businesses and socioeconomic small businesses capable of performing the requirement are highly encouraged to respond.
Utility Meter Maintenance and Calibration Services will be performed at:

This is anticipated to be a performance-based acquisition service contract utilizing the commercial procedures of FAR Part 12 and FAR 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The Contractor shall provide management, supervision, labor, materials, equipment, and supplies, and shall be responsible for the efficient, effective, economical, and satisfactory operations, including scheduled and unscheduled, maintenance and repair of equipment and systems.
The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code that corresponds with this requirement is 334514 (Totalizing Fluid Meter and Counting Device Manufacturing). The small business size standard is 850 employees. If this requirement is set-aside for small businesses and socioeconomic small businesses, there will be a limitation on subcontracting, which means that at least 50 percent of the resulting contract's personnel cost shall be expended on prime contractor employees.
The Period of Performance for these services will be 1-year from the date of award.
