Statement of Work
VISN 23 Grossing Station/BioSafety Cabinet Replacement Procurement
Background: Several sites in VISN 23 are in need of replacing their current grossing stations in the Histology Laboratories. These grossing stations have reached the end of their life expectancy and we have begun to see an increase in the stations experiencing issues that require a service call. The increased downtime of these machines greatly impacts the speed and efficiency of the labs throughout the VISN in performing specimen examination. Additionally, the labs are seeking a newer model of grossing station which has additional features that would increase the speed, efficiency, and safety of the staff performing specimen examinations.
Purpose of Project: Replace 8 grossing stations throughout VISN 23. Specifically 4 in Minneapolis and 1 each in Omaha (NWI), Fargo, Central Iowa, and Iowa City. Each of these sites have grossing stations that are past their life expectancy and are experiencing an increase in service calls.

Description of Work:
The vendor will provide the following quantities of grossing stations with the following features as required by site:
Minneapolis
QTY 4 Grossing Stations
no larger than 60 inches long to fit into existing space
Right hand sink
Air Flow Detection with monitoring system
Adjustable lighting
Air Filtration System to prevent dust & debris build up
Ventilation system
Dual 8 (or comparable) duct stubs for in-house ventilation
Hot/Cold Hand Sprayer
Mechanism for mounting of monitor & keyboard arms
Pegboard (or comparable) for mounting of accessories
Include dye bottle holder
Include large shelf approximately 14 L x 8 D x 2 H
Include small shelf approximately 7 L x 8 D x 2 H
Include bin for paper towels/c-fold gloves
Include magnetic toolbar (or comparable)
Two (2) GFCI receptacles, one (1) each with continuous power
